Why Do You Need a Home Safety Inspection?

You may think that once you step into the sanctuary of your home, you're safe. But what you might not realize is that there are a number of features that you could be missing out on that will only increase the security of your home. In addition, those features you already have installed may not be working up to par. When we perform our inspection, we make sure everything is in working order so you and your family can feel safe all of the time.

Carbon Monoxide         and Smoke Dectectors

These two devices save countless lives year after year so it's vital that they're working properly. We'll test both alarms during our inspection.

Whole House Surge Protection

As this is the most reliable way to protect your appliances from dangerous power surges, we'll suggest you have whole house surge protectors installed, or test your current ones to ensure they're in working order.

Security Lighting

Security lighting is great for keeping intruders out, and helping you see as you unload kids or groceries from the car late at night. But, it does you no good if the automation isn't working or if a bulb is out. We'll check on that for you!

Service Panel

While checking on your service panel is important because it ensures it's safe and working, there is another beneficial feature: We can tell you if it's time you had your panel upgraded. Outdated ones can cause you lights to flicker, and can be a fire hazard.

Outlets and Switches, Including GFCIs

A big part of our inspection involves not only checking to make sure your outlets aren't at risk of burning out or shocking you, but to see if you have GFCI outlets installed. This becomes especially important in areas where water is often present, like kitchens and bathrooms.

Home Grounding

An ungrounded electrical box, appliance, or outlet could be a danger to you and your family. Electricity needs a clear path to get to the service panel which is done through grounding. We'll check all of your outlets to make sure they are grounded, and make suggestions on what to do if they are not.

Pool and Whirpool Spa Electrical Safety

If you have a pool or hot tub, then you know you need a disconnect switch that allows you to power the two assets. If that switch is placed too close to the pool or spa and someone in your family touches it while still in the water, they could be electrocuted. During our inspection, we will make sure that it's far enough away, and is also the right voltage for your needs.
